Giani Bernini is a high-quality Macy’s brand of bags. I find them often at Goodwill and St. Vincent, but not always in this excellent condition. This coated cotton bag has lots of zipper pockets and pouches, leather straps and accents, and a very colorful cotton interior. There’s even a detachable coin purse! If you like bags that have lots of organization with a place for everything, this bag is for you.
Yesterday I offered a coated cotton bag and I admit I’m drawn to them thanks because they’re lightweight, durable, and easy to clean for folks like me who are prone to spills. The two-toned neutral fabrics will go with just about anything so it makes a good everyday bag for any season.
When I’m in the thrift store looking at bags, I always check the brand and if I’m not familiar with it, I research it. Lots of quality bags come your way due to my willingness to sit and research – which many thrift store folks do not do, hence they price high-quality bags at a low price.

Let’s end with a bag I started with a few years ago in LA: a black Travelon shoulder bag. Yes the flashlight still works. Top photo is of the back pocket. The bottom photo is of the inside. Two small zipper pockets on the front give you a place for everything.
I remember this trip well. In April of 2013, the board and some staff went to several locations and talked to a pasionate laywoman named Nancy Frausto. It was my first time back in the area in many years. I visited some thrift stores one day and had a really great time. One of the stores sold items preiously used on TV shows. I got a few pieces of jewelry there.
If you would like bag 40 or any other unclaimed bag, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org before Tuesday, April 23.
How I chose two Liz Claiborne bags in a row is beyond me. But here we are. This briefcase is mock croc faux leather aka pleather or vegan leather as the folks are calling it now. If you knew me as a librarian, you might remember me rocking this bag at the public library and Sands Montessori. I carried it a lot, especially when I was creating Homework Central. What can I say; I felt super classy.
The bag has several internal dividers like a mini file cabinet and has a spot for your computer. There’s also an outside pocket on the back for your favorite magazines and papers.
I got this at TJ Maxx around 15-17 years ago. Mock croc is a pattern that never really goes out of style. Neither does patent leather. So it’s a classic look that you can dress up or wear as my sweet baby is with a casual look. It elevates your whole aura. I carried it a LOT, and it looks fantastic.
I’m not sure exactly why I’m parting with this bag, but sometimes you have to close your eyes and let it go.

It’s Monday, so here’s a bag I used to use for work. From Target, this is a tan Mossimo large tote with front and side pockets, zipper top with inside zipper pocket. Long handles fit over lots of shoulders. Non-leather AKA Vegan – that’s what you see on the bags these days in the store. Email firstname.lastname@example.org if you like.
