bag 1 – taken

Happy Lent!

Bag 1 is a Wilson’s leather tote I got in 2013 just before a trip to Los Angels for a Forward Movement board meeting. I took this photo at a church, which I describe in the original post. The bag came with a small zipper pouch that I used daily as a lipstick/Aquaphor/medicine/bandaid bag in my purse until it finally fell apart last year.

I love this bag because of the three compartments inside: two large ones separated by a middle zippered section. There’s a back wall zipper for small items. It’s great for travel because it’s lightweight and classy, dressy, casual, and sturdy.

If you like this bag, please send your name, address, and bag 1 in an email to 50favbags@gmail.com. If you’re not in Cincinnati and can afford to help with shipping, I’d appreciate it. If you can’t, it’s ok – please still request a bag. If you are local, I will drop you off on your porch unless we make other arrangements. Check out the about page for more info.

The only bag requests I’ll honor are those sent to the email above. First come, first served. Thanks. Having a rough day today, so see you tomorrow. Peace.

bag 16

Green is my favorite color, so I’m always on the lookout for green bags. On a recent trip to Goodwill, I found several awesome bags and had Jaiya help me narrow it down. This  $6 purse by Wilson’s Leather made the cut. You may know Wilson’s from the mall, a place I rarely go so I’m not sure if the stores are still there. I’m also not a fan of using small bags, but this one has so many cool details and – it’s green! It’s got a split strap handle, silver hardware, and three interior pockets. Very attractive for the season.

If you like this bag, email me at 50favbags@gmail.com with the following details: bag 16, your name, your address. Thanks!

Since tomorrow is a feast day and there’s no post, I’ll remind you to review the blog for any posts that DON’T say claimed. That means they’re still up for grabs. If you see anything you like, follow the instructions in that post. PEACE

Days 15 & 16

Sunday had something in common: I rested and did not leave the house. But I did go upstairs and choose a purse, this Fossil saddlebag. Leather and cotton burlap combine with whipstitching and a long, adjustable strap to make it either a cross body or a shoulder bag. It’s got a large interior pocket that holds my water bottle, a smaller pocket that holds a small magazine, like Prevention (which is what’s in there), and a large back pocket for a phone. I am a sucker for a saddlebag, and I’m glad to rediscover that this bag is NOT too small for all of my stuff. Got this one at Goodwill for $8.

Today was Forward Movement’s board meeting, so i had to “haul it all.” I needed a large, lightweight bag so i got this silver tote from Wilson’s Leather out of the closet for this occasion. It has two sections divided by a middle zippered compartment. I got this for $10 at Goodwill four years ago, and took it to California for – guess what – Forward Movement’s board meeting.

day 23

wristlet and nylon tote

i shared a beautiful, spirit-led and spirit-filled day with a wonderful group of people. today’s bag was needed to haul my laptop (i’m taking minutes for our board meeting) and all my gear for a long day away from the hotel. this wilson’s leather tote fit the bill perfectly. i got it for $10 at my goodwill last week. it came with not one, not two, but three bags. the big silver leather bag, a wristlet, and a nylon shopper. i used them all today and i was so thankful to have such a beautiful way to shlep my stuff. i checked and found some on sale at ebay for $75 – the retail price is $100. what! another good score.

i took these photos at All Saints Episcopal Church in Highland Park, just before meeting with their youth group. and i do mean just before, and sorry i’m too tired to crop the top pic. we were there to learn from the people in the church about their ministry, and learn we did. it’s easy to see why people love this church – everyone was warm, welcoming, hospitable, and happy to share with us. i feel so fortunate and blessed to have had such a wonderful day with them and with my colleagues.

but frankly i am wiped out. i will sleep hard tonight, with a last meeting and then all day travel tomorrow. peace.
