Me, the girls, our masks, and this DKNY quilted leather bag went for a ride today. I think I got this at Clothes Mentor but I’ll have to read the blog to find out for sure. Did you know you can search by bag? I’m very thorough with my tags. Librarian.
My favorite thing about this Donna Karan DKNY quilted leather bag is its casual elegance. This looks just as fabulous with a dress and comfort heels as it does with jeans and an oversized sweater, which is how I’d likely wear it. Today is somewhere in between – confirmation and Bishop visit and errands later.
Only DKNY or Calvin Klein or a designer like that could get me to carry a bag with a chain. It’s not my kind of look but somehow it doesn’t look frufru here. The leather ranks in the top five softest in my collection. Maybe top 3 – I’ve never done a softness inventory. Maybe one day.
If you like to travel, or if you like to have a place for everything and everything in its place, this is your bag. This quilted nylon Travelon bag is a crossbody in the truest sense. It’s got more pockets pouches and secret compartments than most bags i’ve seen. Zipper pockets front and back are great for passports and tickets, especially the back pocket. I dare someone! Lift the flap and you have a mesh zipper pouch inside the front flap. Then the front section zips down on the sides so you can reach all your cards and do–dads. The main section also unzips to give you more room inside. It’s crazy. I thought about counting the storage options but the thought made me tired. I know it’s vintage because of the space on the strap for a flip phone. Don’t worry – it’s the perfect size for sanitizer or a small deck of cards. Or, as Jaiya suggests, candy.

You would not believe how soft this leather is. I could sell tickets. Usually, I’m not into chain straps. I made an exception with this DKNY black quilted bag because it has a leather strip threaded through the links so it’s not so loud. Only thing that doesn’t fit is my water bottle.
I’ve been getting rid of lots of bags that are too heavy for me. Getting old is great, except for the various physical maladies that can arise. A neck issue means I can’t carry those fabulous but heavy purses. Here’s one that is NOT too heavy; in fact, it’s the lightest purse i own. That doesn’t change the fact that i can only have so many black bags. This is Kenneth Cole Reaction quilted purse that’s great for travel. Two side pouches and interior pockets keep important stuff handy. Email me at email@example.com if you want to “take it light.” Yeah that’s one of David’s phrases.
