Here is one of my favorite bags about one of my favorite places. I found it in the Mt. Washington Goodwill many years ago when they had really great bags there. It was $6 and when i researched the company, I learned that was a $190 hand painted bag by a company called insiders1, made in Brooklyn.
It’s a small tote, but because of it’s squared off corners, it fits a lot of stuff. This photo was taken two years ago at the Centennial Chapel* at Christ Church Cathedral, where once a month Forward Movement, the cathedral staff, and the diocesan staff have Eucharist and share a meal together. Tomorrow, we will meet on Zoom to share Morning Prayer. Looking forward to seeing everyone – it’ll be a different Zoom crew!
I know I should link a lot of these posts to their previous posts, because I wrote much more about them in the past and I’m forgetful. This time I’m doing it. I carried this bag yesterday and today; I really enjoy it. Click the link above and see why.
This bag by Insiders NY is one of the coolest bags I own. I got it at goodwill for $6 around six years ago. Checking again online, this bag still sells and the price is $250 now. They take photos and print them on soft, buttery leather. The bag is a little small, but not too small for my water bottle. It also has a little leather pocket inside or a phone. It’s perfect when I need a boost like I did today.
this bag was just waiting for me at my aforementioned favorite Goodwill. it called to me from across the store, and when i touched the buttery soft leather, i was sold. $6. i looked up the company online, insidersny.com – and found that the bag is still for sale for $190! their bags and accessories sport photos hand-painted on the leather. they have lines of other cities, too. check out their site. made in brooklyn!
this is a very cool bag of my favorite city; my spiritual home.
i worked in new york for a year, and lived in nj for a year and a half, and if i could pick up and move today it would be to nyc, or somewhere near enough to take the train into the city. i haven’t been back in 19 years, but my day will come… oh yes, my day will come.
the bag served me well today at the Episcopal Communicators convention. it held all of my stuff, folder, water bottle and snacks. (best snack table i’ve ever seen – it included pop chips, pirate’s booty and frozen fruit bars!)
and yes, i snapped this photo in the second most beautiful hotel bathroom i’ve ever seen.
