TJ Maxx teaches me a lot about shopping at the thrift store. The reason I find so many excellent bags is that I know what to look for. Sometimes, I end up buying a few bags from TJ. This Maurizio Taiuti called to me from the clearance rack for $39 at least nine or ten years ago.

It’s got a long crossbody strap and a slip pocket just the right size for my phone. Here it is in 2019 when I was out there for Episcopal Communicators in Denver at Starbucks when Sandra wanted something sweet after lunch.
You’d think with all of my bags I’d be rocking fabulous stuff all the time. But with my various physical maladies, carrying a backpack is best. That means I carry a purse inside the backpack, and the purse that fits perfectly is this Kipling bag I got at the thrift store a while back. It seems small, but an iPad would fit in there. Last week I had to give it up to start the 50 days of favorite bags, but since I’m on a work trip where I needed to bring four bags, I opted for lightweight ones. And we’re back together again!! Yes, it needs a little mending on the sides where the seams are starting to unravel. I will get to that one day. Kipling bags typically have a fuzzy monkey charm, but this one has a tiny brass monkey. Cue the Beastie Boys!!
