Shopping at Clothes Mentor always teaches me something. I’d never heard of Linea Pelle until I looked up the brand while considering whether or not to buy this purse. Once I zipped and unzipped the zippers a few times and finally stopped touching this supersoft leather, I decided it was worth the $14 they were asking. Plus, I love perforated bags. Period.
Today I checked online an found this bag in cognac on Poshmark for $70. You can find others on Amazon ranging from $198-$245, unless you want vegan.
I love everything about this bag except one thing. It’s heavy. I have some physical issues that require me to lighten my load. The only way I can do that with this bag is to take off the shoulder strap and carry it like a satchel. That means I don’t use it as often as I’d like. But maybe I can carry it around the house.
Here’s a bag I really love even though it’s not a crossbody or backpack. But c’mon – it’s FRINGE. Ombre fringe. And blue isn’t even my favorite color – but who cares? This bag is LIT. It’s a Holding Horses tote by Anthropologie that I found at Clothes Mentor. If you don’t know about Clothes Mentor – you should check them out if you like bags. They have great bags from lots of brands including high-end designer bags. Clothes Mentor is in the Once Upon a Child and Plato’s Closet family but for grown ass women. I also love them for clothes, and sometimes shoes – gotta be careful with resale shoes, people.
Fossil from Clothes Mentor. Tired. Me, not the bag.
A newer to me Fossil that I got at Clothes Mentor last year. Coated cotton with leather trim, detachable adjustable strap, keys, and this supercool pattern. It’s got room for everything – even my laptop, if I use the strap. But it’s much cooler to carry it by the handles. And I gotta stay cool.
Linda Pelle bag that I don’t use as much as I would because it’s too heavy. But I can’t part ith it because it’s got so many of my favorite qualities: soft, pebbled, perforated leather; bushed silver hardware, butter zipper. Here’s a bit more about it from the past. I did enjoy carrying it, but – it’s heavy. I have a cervical (back) issue where I really shouldn’t carry these gorgeous bags. I even took off the strap! If you like quality bags and not their price tags, check out Clothes Mentor.
My favorite thing about this Donna Karan DKNY quilted leather bag is its casual elegance. This looks just as fabulous with a dress and comfort heels as it does with jeans and an oversized sweater, which is how I’d likely wear it. Today is somewhere in between – confirmation and Bishop visit and errands later.
Only DKNY or Calvin Klein or a designer like that could get me to carry a bag with a chain. It’s not my kind of look but somehow it doesn’t look frufru here. The leather ranks in the top five softest in my collection. Maybe top 3 – I’ve never done a softness inventory. Maybe one day.
Found this bag at Clothes Mentor and got it even though it’s heavy. I could not resist the perforated leather. You can zip and unzip without having to hold anything. Next time you unzip your anything, ask yourself: did I have to use my other hand to get it done. By linea pelle.
When I saw this bag Clothes Mentor, I admired it but left it in the store. But I was intrigued when it was still there a couple more times after that. Pilcro and the letterpress? Never heard of it. Did my research and found out it’s an Anthropologie brand. You see how it worked out. After black and red, yellow is a great color to invest in. If you love a color but it looks… well… not so great on you, get the bag.
Calvin Klein in chartreuse made my rainy day brighter. Many of you know that I’ve changed my attitude about the weather. It’s going to do what it’s going to do, so i get the right gear and head out with a thankful attitude for the gift of another day. I have colorful purses that I save for rainy days. Gotta use my red umbrella so the buttery leather doesn’t get wet.
I found this Isabella Fiore bag at Clothes Mentor a couple of years ago. I love everything about it: the beading – exquisite; the leather – divine; the zippers – like butter; the pulls – gorgeous; the woven handles – sigh. I hesitated to use it today because I thought I’d need it for a special occasion. Then I decided today was special.
