I’ll be the first to admit that when I saw this cute Steve Madden colorblocked purse, it took me right back to 1984. I had an outfit that this would have gone PERFECTLY with – a mustard-colored oversized buttondown tunic, colorblocked cutout loafers with these three colors plus green, and dangly fruit earrings in all of those colors, worn with red leggings, naturally. It was one of my favorite outfits, and I wore it to the airport to pick up David when he came to Cincinnati to visit me for the first time. Over thirty years later, here’s this bag. $12 at Goodwill.
Convertible clutch, shoulder bag, and tote. The goldtone chain strap is removable, so it’s a clean clutch. Add it for a shoulder bag, or for more space in the bag, carry it by the goldtone handles. Ah, so cute! I gave it to Nia, and she left it in her closet, so I asked her if it would be fair to assume she didn’t want it. The thing I did NOT do was take a pic and send it to her.
If you like this bag, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with bag 32, your name, your address. Peace.
Update – David reminded me that the leggings were red, not black. WOW
Here’s a cute woven bag from J Crew. I was in high school in the 80s and Pappagallo bags were a THING. Of course, we had no money for that, so I had a knockoff brand with not the same number of buttons so it was OBVIOUS that it was fake. I still loved that bag, though.
So when I saw this at Goodwill it reminded me of those days so I bought it. The reason I take most of my bag photos on the same door is so you have an idea of the size and scale of each bag. If the doorknob looks big, the bag is small. Hence, it’s up for grabs, cute as it is.
I use lots of bags for other purposes – my vintage Fossil collection holds my scarves and jewelry. Bags are art to me, and this one fits that category well. Spring is coming, this bag will get you right in the Spring mood.

Throwback Thursday on a Wednesday to the 80s when some people had bags like this that I couldn’t afford. Yes – this is a vintage Blackwatch plaid Ralph Lauren Polo saddlebag crossbody. I got it for Kaia because she likes stuff like this but it found its way to the giveaway basket. The girls also offer bags for the giveaway. Often they’re bags that I bought for them, but not always.
If you had a blast in the 80s or wish you did, this Polo purse will bring you to that Xanadu you’ve been looking for. If you like this bag, email me at firstname.lastname@example.org with the following information: bag 7, your name, your address. Thanks!
The 1980s are legendary; everyone knows that. Izod, Pappagallo, Bass, Sperry – you remember, right? So here’s a blast from that past – good old LeSportsac in classic black. Lightweight, durable, and super sporty, I couldn’t resist this contemporary throwback. Works as a shoulder bag or a cross body. Don’t let the small size fool you, it holds a good deal of your stuff. Email me at email@example.com if the past is in your future.
Today we had to model this from the car on the way to school. It’s like that sometimes. Peace.
