day 49

TJ Maxx brings me a lot of mental healing. I don’t always spend a lot of money in there; it’s just fun to look around at stuff. I used to spend a lot of time in the bag department, which is right at the front door. Now when I go in I go right past the bags unless I have a reason to go over there.

This yellow convertible bag by The Sak was a Christmas present from me to me around four or five years ago. I bought it for $60, put it in the closet in a bag, then wrapped it and put it under the tree. When I opened it, i oohed and aaaahed and was so excited. I played with it like it was a new toy, which was fun due to the shoulder strap which snaps underneath the bag when not in use. I usually carry it by the handles. It’s a great bag to brighten any day, but I tend to carry it on rainy days for a reminder of what the sun looks like.

Since we’ve been sheltering at home, I really love getting on the TJ Maxx website and browsing. My girls and I have always relied on TJ for therapy, especially when we don’t want to spend a lot of or any money. Or, we go for a phone case or cord but browse around. We also get our chia and other gourmet foods there. I think i said this before but i really appreciate how they closed their website and still paid their staff, and then are slowly coming back, only taking a certain number of orders a day. There are certain stores I don’t patronize when I know how they treat their employes. Glad to know TJ isn’t horrible.

Meanwhile – I kept looking at the straps in this picture like what is that white stuff on the handles? There’s nothing on there. Then after a while I realized it’s the glare from the flash. Time for bed.

One more day!
