Here is my beloved and long sought after laptop backpack by Swissgear. I shopped and shopped and shopped for this bag for months. Extensive research and visits to TJ Maxx involving lots of sitting and pulling zippers, carrying them around the store on my back, and comparing various backpacks finally led me to buy this one for $35. It has served me well and is still in great shape. But it’s also taught me what I want in a backpack. Maybe need, like a luggage strap.
So, I’ve spent more time than I want to admit over the last few weeks researching backpacks. When I say researching, I mean serious research. Not just searching, but watching videos of people reviewing backpacks. I’ve ordered a couple, and they went or are going back. I have another couple on the way. I read Amazon reviews, then go elsewhere to shop. And I assure myself: I’m not the guy who spent $1400 to find the perfect backpack. (Nomatic. He’s right, but I can’t afford it. Maybe.) I’m obsessed with backpacks and finding the ideal… ones. Not just one. I told you, it’s an issue.
When I think about why now? Why, when I don’t have anywhere to go, am I obsessed with backpacks? The same reason many of us are obsessed with unreasonable and unrealistic concepts while sheltering in place.
Hope. Faith. Confidence and belief in a future where we’re still here, and we’re able to go somewhere. What’s keeping you going?
