Today I didn’t go anywhere; as i continue to recover i need one day of rest and elevation. So let me tell you about this laptop bag/briefcase i found a few weeks ago at goodwill for $6. I like to grab all of the bags that look good, then sit down and inspect them, google brands, zip zippers, you get the idea. So i’m sitting in the chair section, looking at these other bags that i DID NOT buy, when i picked this one up. It looked brand new, and one of these kinds of leathers that you can’t be sure if it’s real or not. I found the name of the bag on the zipper – McKlein. I’d never heard of it. I googled it, and found McKleinUSA.com with, you guessed it, bags for sale, and the leather is real, at least from the descriptions and prices of the bags on the site. A comparable bag to this one retails for between $112 and $180. This one has three separate sections – two outer zipper sections with an open area in the middle that snaps shut. I had to get rid of a briefcase to make room for this one. I haven’t used it yet, but i will. Don’t you worry.

Day 13
Day 12
This part of the blog is an Easter celebration for 50 days of my favorite bags. The hardest part about my personal Easter celebration is having to tell people they can’t have one of the bags. To be clearer – the 40 day Lent bag giveaway is over; it ended on Holy Saturday. Easter Sunday started the 50 favorite bag part, where i use a different bag every day for 50 days. This discipline celebrates the bags, and is an exercise in… a whole lot of things, actually. Having to switch bags daily means I can’t build up a lot of stuff. It forces me to choose and then release at the end of the day. There’s no getting into a bag rut during these 50 days. Anyway. If you asked for a bag since Easter, you won’t be receiving it. Sorry for any confusion.
Today’s bag is an old standby, my first Tignanello. This bag does it all except pay the bills. Read more here. I almost got rid of it this year, that’s how few bags I have left compared to the past. I don’t buy like i used to. I give away more than i used to. The collection is truly whittling down to the favorites. I’m thankful.
Day 11
Days 9 & 10
Yesterday, Monday, i thought, i’m not going anywhere; i’ll use this Linda Pelle bag which is technically too heavy but is too awesome to ditch. That turned out to be a myth; the girls and i went everywhere. But Oh My Goodness i fell in love with this bag. I hugged it at one point — the leather feels that good. And, it’s perforated. Black, perforated, handles and shoulder/crossbody strap… butter zipper… i couldn’t give it up after just one day. So, i used it in today’s bag, a Vera Bradley tote i recently picked up at the thrift store. Now, I don’t have a thing for Vera Bradley, but i do have a thing for nice patterns and light bags. This fit the bill. It’s great for hauling my purse, ice packs, exercise printouts from the PT, and change of shoes.
This style of Linda Pelle bag is no longer for sale, but a similar sized bag retails for $348, $150 on sale. It’s the softest leather i own. I got it at Clothes Mentor for $14. Check them out – there’s one in Anderson near the OAUC, Plato’s Closet, and Staples. There’s another one in the Hyde Park plaza. The Vera Bradley was at Goodwill and i think it was $10. Hashtag worth it.
Getting back to normal after the Episcopal Communicators conference, which was here in Cincinnati… almost there.
Day 7 – which was yesterday
Ok I admit it – i put this in the giveaway last year, then swapped another purse out and kept this one when no one wanted it. Sometimes a bag is meant to be. After a tough week physically, I needed the pick-me-up this bag provides. I took it to Jaiya’s ballet performance of The Jungle Book last night. Makes an all black dress with boots look great. Read more about it here. I went nowhere today, so i’ll have to do a two bag day one of these days.
Day 6
Day 5
Day 4 a day late, wow
Here’s me and my Kipling at the airport picking up a lovely gentleman for our Episcopal Communicators conference. Thought i’d come home and post it – yeah right. This is the bag I use when i just need it all to work. Fits an iPad, water bottle, and all the rest. A place for everything and… you know the rest. Glad i found this at the thrift store, gave it to my oldest, then reclaimed it. NO NIA you can’t have it back.
Day 3 a day late
This Holding Horses bag from Anthropologie got me through a long, busy day. I took the photo early in the day, but fell asleep before posting. Clothes Mentor is my next level up from the thrift store in terms of price point. You can find FABULOUS bags in there. If you’re not familiar with CLohtes Mentor, it’s in the family of Once Upon a Child (kids resale) and Plato’s Closet (juniors resale). It’s great for clothes and shoes, too. I paid around $14-$18 for this baby.
